
Materials
Furniture Vision uses a variety of materials, accessories, technologies and equipment, conventional or less conventional, in the production of furniture and in the interior design, in order to be able to solve the requirements of your projects.
The following materials can be used, separately or together, to create a unified, personalized, unique environment, as you designed it. The materials presented are some of those used in production, they try to give you an idea of the multitude of possibilities from which you can choose. These materials used in the furniture industry and beyond often exceed the limits of the imagination.
Corian®
Corian® is a solid, non-porous composite material composed of natural minerals, acrylic resin and non-toxic pigments. Due to its following characteristics, Corian® offers a wide range of possibilities in the design and execution of modern, non-conforming furniture elements, furniture and cladding with a unitary, monobloc character. It is a thermoformable material, and can take various shapes and sizes, depending on the imagination of the designer, designer or architect.
The main features are:
• Resistant to mechanical and chemical factors, without changes in shape or consistency
• Solid, non-porous material, without capillaries or microcracks
• Non-toxic, usable in the food or medical industry
• Almost invisible joints and joints
• Can be repaired, reconditioned, refined matte or glossy
• It can be translucent
• It is thermoformable three-dimensional
Hanex®
It is a premium acrylic composite material that emphasizes the perfect balance between function and shape. It consists of methyl methacrylate (MMA), polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), alumina trihydrate and other special substances that give it timeless quality and beauty. Thanks to this composition, Hanex acquires a series of properties that make it one of the most versatile materials for interior design:
•Three-dimensional thermoformability
•Translucency
• Invisible joints
• Possibility of engraving some patterns on the surface
• Possibility to make inserts of different colors
The exclusive manufacturing process uses high-tech equipment and materials, so the HANEX acrylic composite material is meticulously designed and executed to withstand even the most rigorous treatment. Hanex is obtained using a unique processing technology, namely the Double Belt Casting Unit. The application of pressure and temperature control by the upper and lower casting strip maximizes the uniformity of the composition, the control of the thickness, the workability of the material, resulting in a product with a premium quality.
HPL
HPL (high-pressure laminates) is a foil / plate material of various thicknesses used for the decorative coating of unfinished plates with various decorations.
HPL (High Pressure Laminate) is a compound made from paper and phenolic resins. The result is sheets of very resistant material in different sizes and with thicknesses between 0.5 and 25mm. The decoration sheet is usually a high definition print on special paper, which reproduces plain colors, wood, rocks, abstract patterns or custom designs. HPL is a perfect material for surfaces that require durability and outstanding impact resistance.
MDF & HDF
Based on the same process of processing wood fibers, MDF or HDF, are boards that can be used in the execution of furniture, decorative elements, interior design or for the implementation of various concepts of modern or classic design. It is a material that can be finished directly by painting, varnishing, melamine or veneering.
Compared to chipboard with a density of 160-450 kg / m2, MDF has a density of 600-800 kg / m2 and HDF has a density of 600-1450 kg / m2.
PAL
The ideal material for horizontal or vertical interior design, for furniture, for example for fronts, shelves, cabinets or wall cladding.
Simple chipboard - is a product often used in the furniture industry, made by pressing at high temperatures wood chips, scrap from the manufacture of lumber or even sawdust, along with a special synthetic resin or a suitable binder. Larger particles are used inside, and much finer particles are used in the outer layer. The fine particles from the outside increase the resistance to scratches and at the same time give an ease in processing. The adhesive used in the manufacture of chipboard may differ, depending on the quality that the chipboard must have:
• Urea-formaldehyde resin, for easy use and low cost;
• Ureaamine resins, for water resistance;
• Phenolformaldehyde resins for outdoor use.
Melamine chipboard
Melamine is made by applying a special foil of synthetic veneer, in different shades (UNI or imitation wood) in different structures:
• Glossy;
• Smooth;
• Mata;
• Textured; a wood fiber.
Melamine is applied only on the upper and lower part of the chipboard, the edges being “sealed” with special edges:
• Melamine foil (application with a hair dryer or iron) - used less and less;
• ABS edge (applied with special machines, with melted adhesive at temperatures between 160 and 210 degrees).
Both custom and standard furniture can be produced from chipboard. Chipboard is mainly used for the following types of furniture: living room, bedroom, dressing room, simple cabinets or with sliding doors, furniture for commercial spaces, offices, pharmacies, etc. It is not recommended to use chipboard in wet areas, especially in the bathroom.
PLEXIGLAS®
Transparent Plexiglas boards are used as a replacement for glass and are lighter and more transparent than it. In addition, they are much more resistant to shocks and impact, which is essential in aircraft construction. Plexiglas boards are a solution for a light company, an exhibition stand or an advertising sign, a transparent laminator, a protection for the work machine. A very common solution is to use extruded acrylic boards for these applications. Unlike glass windows, acrylic boards can be processed (cut, holes, milling, strike) with tools and equipment used in wood processing. The acrylic plates (plexiglass) can also be transformed by printing, screen printing. Plexiglas is 30 times stronger than ordinary glass.
Thicknesses and applications of plexiglass boards: Plexiglas boards have thicknesses starting from 1.5 mm. At this thickness, Plexiglass boards are mainly used in the production of advertising and in the production of furniture. The same areas of use are preferred in the case of thicknesses from 2 mm to 6 mm, but also here are the applications for home use: shelves, refrigerator shelves, or tiled windows. When they are between 8 mm and 12 mm thick, plexiglass boards are mainly used in applications:
• in the field of advertising production: volumetric letters, totems, illuminated logos and many more
• in the field of constructions and decorations: railings, showcases, protection windows (when compact polycarbonate is not the first choice)
• for special devices that require high pressure resistance
Staron®
Samsung's Staron® is among the latest to enter the market and is a material with different finishes compared to other competitors, but it is less known, both in Romania and in the world.
